Basic At-Home Gear that Helps Me Stay Sharp
Updated 10/17/25
Boxing isn’t just a workout; I especially like to think of my warm-ups as movement therapy. Stretching every muscle, clearing my head with an intention to be present is important, it’s part of listening to my body, a must at my big age. Let’s not forget stress relief. Every punch builds focus, power, and confidence. Over the years, I’ve tested many gloves, wraps, and tools to see what really helps me take my skillset and fitness to the next level.
Here’s a breakdown of the boxing equipment I use (and recommend) for building speed, power, and confidence whether you train at home or in the gym.
Lightweight Jump Rope👍$1.80

Warm-up, stamina, and conditioning.
I do not like jumping rope, but I can’t ignore the benefits of how it levels up my endurance training.
Hand Weights

Speed, and power.
Gloves
I train in what I spar in … 16 oz gloves. Although my hands are tiny and can really fit into a 10 ounce glove comfortably, it’ because I’m used to training in a heavier ounce glove than what is required for competition.
